here begins my adventures with digital photography. as a disclaimer, they are purely conceptual since obviously the resolution is nothing to brag about. all pictures were taken by an HP Photosmart M22 which comes with only the basest of basics that makes any aspiring photographer cringe with disappointment. however, you work with you got and i really can't complain since i did just kind of find it late one night on a campus bus. anyway, give me some critique if you please, just not about the quality of the picture... enjoy!

i saw this while walking around a nature path in durham... not sure what else to say about it. i like the shape and the silhouette-ness of it. slightly over-exposed, i know...

i found this little "arrangement" tucked away between some big wooden thing and a building... i'd probably passed it multiple times, but never really SAW it until i had a camera in my hands...

this is actually how the picture came out (nasty grey). turns out the paper i was using was old. but i actually kinda like it :)
pennies in a line (macro)

another assignment: merging

model: frank r. ramirez the second (with long hair!)

upsidedown trashcan that had collected water and leaves... i really like this one though it came out kinda light =\

assignment for class... rule of thirds

i love the grittiness of this picture...

macro of my favorite dried rose

macro of some dried flower that liked to fall apart
dead pansies

another macro. bottom of a "cracked glass" bowl of sorts.
i broke a mirror... here are a few of the shards pieced together. also a macro... the biggest shard was maybe 2 inches long.
macro of a 20 oz. bottle

black-eyed susies

one of my personal favs :)

art pond at the school of science and math in durham, north carolina

(see the fishes!)
apple blossom

here's the sepia version =) i like it... thanks to will cowan for the suggestion:

flowers growing amidst dead leaves... originally 8 x 10 on matte
all photography is original art by hannah mullenix (copyright 2005)

taken with various models of 35 mm manual cameras at various settings... no i don't remember the specs for each one. please don't ask. all darkroom-developed by me :)

enjoy!
